Association National Voluntary Forest Certification System announces a tender for field testing of the standard " Sustainable forest management. General provisions" for the assessment (verification) of its unambiguity and adequacy of the formulated requirements and practicality in the implementation of certification assessments.

The testing will be carried out on the basis of several forestry enterprises selected by the Association taking into account various conditions: forest zones, flat and mountainous territories, forms of ownership of forest users.

Field testing should cover the full range of requirements included in the draft standard, and assess the feasibility of testing the standard as a whole, as well as the socio-economic consequences of its implementation.

Testing should include a documentary audit (remote version is allowed) and a field check. The total audit time is at least 6 person-days for one enterprise, in particular, the field audit is at least 4 person – days. As a result of field testing, a report should be provided, which should consist of two parts: one should contain conclusions about the practical use of the standard and, if necessary, suggestions for improving its provisions, and the second – the results of meeting the requirements of the standard by each of the enterprises.

Probationary period is May 2020.

 

The audit company that:

  • is a registered legal entity (or a designated part of a legal entity);
  • has a technical competence in forest management, its economic, social and environmental implications;
  • have a total experience of certification works in the field of forest management certification for at least three years, in particular in forestry enterprises of Ukraine, and experience of certification works in the field of forest management certification under the PEFC system in other countries;
  • is familiar with the draft standard for which the test is being conducted and understand its provisions;
  • has competent auditors with relevant experience in the certification process and issues related to forestry that meet the general auditor criteria for quality and environmental management systems defined in ISO 19011

are invited to participate in the tender.

 

If these requirements are met, the additional selection criteria for determining the performer of the field test will be the proposed cost of work and the structure of the reports.
