On April 27, within the framework of the Association's Action Plan to prevent the risks of illegal timber and corruption in Ukraine., an announced online training seminar "Anti-Corruption Legislation: Application in the Forest Industry" was held.

It is nice to note that the participants of the seminar represented a wide range of stakeholders, including: forestry workers, lawyers, journalists, scientists, students, community activists.

The speaker of the seminar - lawyer-consultant, well-known expert in the field of forest law Oleg Storchous presented the seminar participants with an overview of legislation in the field of corruption prevention, information on anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine, spoke in detail about anti-corruption restrictions, and answered questions.

For those who could not participate directly, we provide access to the recording of the training seminar and presentation of Oleg Storchous.

Our goal in this area of activity is to educate forestry workers to prevent corruption violations through negligence or ignorance and to encourage active citizens to prevent conscious corruption by certain representatives of the forest industry.

The Association plans to continue holding such educational events with a greater emphasis on the practical component. The next event is expected to take place in October-November 2021.

All interested parties are kindly requested to send their suggestions on the issues to be considered during the next workshop to info@pefcukraine.com.

Our website http://woodcertification.com.ua/ also contains a form for the possibility of submitting online complaints regarding violations of current legislation of Ukraine and any manifestations of corruption in the National Forest Voluntary Certification System.
